The Teacher Terms are the agreement between you and Insight Timer that covers everything you publish on our platform. These FAQs explain the highlights in plain language, but they're not legal advice—the Teacher Terms themselves are the official contract.
What are the Teacher Terms?
The Teacher Terms are the agreement between Insight Timer and each teacher that governs how we work together to share your content on our platform. They explain how we use the content you upload. These FAQs help guide you through them, but they're not part of the contract itself.
What rights am I granting Insight Timer?
When you publish content with us, you're granting Insight Timer a license to use that content in several ways. This license allows us to:
- Display your content on our app and website worldwide.
- Package or edit your content for specific Insight Timer features (for example, adding an intro if your track is used in a challenge or including it in a platform playlist).
- Package, edit, and display your content on our social media channels for marketing purposes. We do this to promote both your work and Insight Timer generally.
We'll stop displaying your content right away if you ask. To request removal, email us at publishers@insighttimer.com, and we'll take care of it in a reasonable timeframe.
We also use information about how community members interact with your content to improve our platform (for example, improving the algorithm that recommends content to users).
Do I still own my content?
Yes, completely. The license you grant us is non-exclusive, meaning you retain full ownership. You're also free to use and license your content outside our platform.
How does the license affect my existing content?
By continuing to teach and host content on Insight Timer, you agree that your existing content is covered by this license. If you don't agree with the new Teacher Terms, you can remove your content from our platform at any time, as described above.
How do I know if my offerings count as "Healthcare Services"?
Most offerings on Insight Timer are general educational content, not individualized treatment plans, so they're not classified as "Healthcare Services." That clause applies if you're providing diagnosis, treatment, or other specific services to an individual or group on the platform—which isn't permitted.
