Insight Timer retreats allow teachers to independently create and manage their events. This policy outlines the procedures and responsibilities for guests and teachers with regard to cancellations and refunds.
Refund Policies
Deposits
Deposits are payable to Insight Timer and are non-refundable.
Balance Amounts (Remaining Amounts)
Refund terms for the remaining balance (Total Price less deposit) are chosen by the teacher and vary between retreats. Guests should refer to the specific retreat terms and conditions or contact the teacher directly for details.
Teachers are required to ensure that their refund policies are transparent, easily accessible. Insight Timer cannot process refunds of the Remaining Amount, this is a matter for both the teacher and guest to resolve.
Force Majeure
In the cases below, guests may request a refund, but neither Insight Timer nor teachers are obligated to accommodate these requests:
- Personal illness or Injury
- Government Obligations (eg, Jury Duty)
- Non-travel ban related advisories
- Transportation strikes and disruptions not related to items above
- Natural Disasters (eg, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes)
- Government Imposed Restrictions (eg, Travel Bans)
- Public Health Emergencies
- Military actions / Hostile Events (eg, Wars, Invasions, Civil Unrest, terrorist attacks)
- Widespread Utility Failures (eg, electricity, water shortages)
Process for Claiming Refunds
Guests must contact the Teacher as soon as possible to request a refund or rescheduling. Teachers are to promptly process these claims and provide an outcome to the guest. Teachers are to let us know whenever they are offering a guest a refund and for what reason, we will then decide if we are refunding the deposit and communicate this with the guest.
