Insight Timer retreats are created and managed independently by teachers. This policy outlines how cancellations and refunds work for guests and the responsibilities of everyone involved.
Understanding Your Deposits
Deposits are paid to Insight Timer and are non-refundable under normal circumstances.
Force Majeure Events
In certain cases—like extreme circumstances beyond anyone's control—guests may request a refund of their deposit. However, neither Insight Timer nor the teacher is obligated to approve these requests. Each situation is unique and reviewed individually.
Balance and Remaining Amounts
Refund terms for the remaining balance (total price minus deposit) are set by each teacher and vary between retreats. Guests should refer to the specific retreat's terms and conditions or contact the teacher directly for details about their refund policy.
Teachers are responsible for making their refund policies transparent and easily accessible to guests. Insight Timer cannot process refunds of the remaining balance—that's a conversation between the teacher and guest to work out together.
How to Request a Refund
If you need a refund or want to reschedule, contact the teacher as soon as possible. Teachers are expected to respond promptly to these requests and let the guest know the outcome. When teachers approve a refund, they let us know so we can decide whether to refund the deposit and communicate that decision to the guest.
