Can Teachers Use Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Their Insight Timer Offerings?

We allow limited, transparent use of AI on Insight Timer. Real human teaching sits at the core of our platform, and we want to keep it that way. The care a teacher brings, their authenticity, their lived experience and their expertise are what make teaching so powerful for so many. And that can only come from a real person. AI can support that work, but it cannot replace it.

Scripts

AI tools can help during the creative process: brainstorming, editing an outline or refining a sentence. Used this way, they are a support to your work, but not a substitute for it.

The teaching itself has to come from you, your expertise and understanding of the practice, as well as your care for the person who will be listening. A track that is entirely AI generated, read aloud by a human, is what we seek to avoid. The voice matters, and so does the care, thought, and accountability that goes with it.

Voice

The narration in any track you publish must be performed by a real human voice. AI-generated voices and voice-clones are not permitted. This ensures that community members know they're connecting with an authentic human teacher.

Music

AI-generated music is allowed where music is in a supporting role. An ambient background under a guided meditation, for example. Tracks made up solely of AI-generated music with no human voice or instruction are not permitted. The human element must be central to the content.

Images

AI-generated images are acceptable if they meet our Image Requirements and Technical Specifications and do not contain significant distortions. Avoid AI images that have distorted faces, misshapen limbs, or other visual artifacts that are distracting, obviously AI-generated or lower the quality of the experience for community members.

Helpful tools

AI can be useful for audio clean-up, audio levelling, removing background noise or smoothing transitions. Anything that improves the listening experience without changing the substance of your teaching is allowed.

What happens next

Our team carefully reviews all content before it's published on the platform. If something doesn't align with these guidelines, we may reject it and ask you to revise. We're keeping an open mind as AI technology evolves and develops, and we're committed to updating this policy over time to support our community and teachers in the best way possible. Your feedback and questions are welcome as we navigate this together.
