Insight Timer offers a free timer for meditation and yoga practice, accessible to all users without a MemberPlus subscription.
Accessing the free timer
To access the free timer on Insight Timer, follow these steps:
- Tap the Timer tab (the middle icon at the bottom of the screen). You can also access it from the Saved tab (the fifth icon)—select Timer from there.
- Once the Timer screen opens, scroll down and tap Revert to Basic Timer. This switches you to the free, basic timer version, which works perfectly for meditation, breathwork, yoga nidra, or any mindfulness practice you want to time.
Using the basic timer
The free timer is straightforward to use. Set your desired duration, start your practice, and the timer counts down. When your session ends, you'll get a gentle notification to bring you back.
