How Can I Ensure I Receive Daily Reminder Notifications on Insight Timer?

If you're not receiving your Daily Reminder on Insight Timer, don't worry—it's usually just a settings issue. You'll want to check both your in-app reminder settings and your device notification settings to get back on track. Daily reminders are a great way to build a consistent meditation and mindfulness practice.


Step 1: Check Reminder Settings in the App

  1. Open the Insight Timer app.
  2. Tap the menu icon (≡) in the top-left corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Select Encouragement & Notifications.
  5. Tap Daily Reminders.
  6. Make sure your reminder is toggled on and the correct time is selected.


If you want more control over the timing, turn off Smart Scheduling to manually choose a specific reminder time that works best with your schedule.


Step 2: Enable Notifications on Your Device


For iPhone or iPad (iOS 17+)

Your device-level notification settings need to allow Insight Timer to reach you. Here's how to enable them:


  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Select Insight Timer.
  4. Turn on Allow Notifications.
  5. Make sure Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners are all selected for the best experience.


For Android (Android 13+)

Android devices also require notification permissions at the system level:


  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Tap App notifications.
  4. Select Insight Timer.


Make sure all notification categories are turned on so you receive every reminder.


Important Note

Your Daily Reminder won't be sent if the Insight Timer app is open and active at the scheduled reminder time. Make sure the app is closed when you expect your reminder to arrive. This gives you a natural nudge to start your session.
